Get Rate - now with 24 hour real-time online Foreign Exchange

HSBC Personal and Business Internet Banking customers can now take control over foreign currency exchange rates 24 hours a day, with real-time market quotes. To make things even better, customers are now able to trade cross currency pairs including Chinese Renminbi*.

  • Trade foreign currencies 24 hours a day with Get Rate's real-time market quotes, Monday 8:00 AM - Friday 11.59 PM (excludes public & US holidays), between your Personal or Business linked HSBC Australia accounts in Internet Banking.
  • Trade cross currency pairs (trades not including AUD) for up to 18 currencies between accounts or on International Money Transfers (Telegraphic Transfers, cut-off times apply)#.
  • Open up to 9 separate HSBC Foreign Currency Accounts^ (including Chinese Renminbi*) currently available through Personal Internet Banking in one easy online application. For HSBC Business customers, please call 1300 731 720 (Monday to Friday 8am-7pm).

How to start using Get Rate

 
Personal Customers
  1. Log-on or register to access Personal Internet Banking.

  2. Use your existing Foreign or Multi Currency Accounts to start trading currencies between accounts. You can also apply for an account through Personal Internet Banking.

  3. The "Confirm and Get Rate" option will appear for all eligible transactions on the transfer confirmation screen.
Business Customers
  1. Log-on or register to access Business Internet Banking.

  2. Use your existing Foreign or Multi Currency Accounts to start trading currencies between accounts. To apply for a new account, visit www.hsbc.com.au or call 1300 731 720 (Monday to Friday 8am-7pm).

  3. The "Confirm and Get Rate" option will appear for all eligible transactions on the transfer confirmation screen.

The Get Rate feature is only available with Personal Internet Banking, Business Internet Banking or Mobile Internet Banking services (please refer to the relevant PDSs). 24 hour access is available between Monday 8.00 AM - Friday 11.59 PM (except for public & US holidays), for transfers between linked Personal and Business HSBC Australia accounts and selected currencies.
* Chinese Renminbi is only available for eligible Personal Foreign and Multi Currency Accounts. Transaction restrictions apply, please refer to the Personal Savings and Deposit Accounts Supplementary Product Disclosure Statement.
