Do I get any insurance with my HSBC credit card?

HSBC offers a range of complimentary insurances with our Gold, Platinum and HSBC Premier credit cards, including International Travel Insurance, Guaranteed Pricing Insurance, Extended Warranty Insurance, Purchase Protection Insurance, Transit Accident Insurance (Platinum only). There are no complimentary insurances offered on HSBC's American Express Credit Cards.

What other Credit Card Insurance covers are available?

It's comforting to know that your financial commitments are covered should the unexpected happen. HSBC Card Repayment Protection Insurance offers cover to help you meet your minimum monthly repayments if you become temporarily disabled or involuntarily unemployed - or pays the outstanding balance should you become totally and permanently disabled or die, up to a maximum of $25,000.

The insurance is issued by American International Assurance Company (Australia) Limited (AIA), ABN 79 004 837 861, AFSL 230043 trading as AIG Life. HSBC Card Repayment Protection is distributed by HSBC Bank Australia Limited, ABN 48 006 434 162; AFSL No. 232595 (HSBC).

What is International Travel Insurance?

International Travel Insurance is complimentary for HSBC Gold, Platinum and Premier cardholders. It protects you while overseas when you purchase your return travel tickets using your credit card. This protection covers medical and hospital expenses, loss or damage to personal items, travel delays, cancellation of travel, rental vehicle damage and legal liability. What is the Guaranteed Pricing Scheme?

The Guaranteed Pricing Scheme is complimentary for HSBC Gold, Platinum and Premier cardholders. It allows you to claim the price difference on an item purchased with your credit card when you discover the identical item at a lower price within 21 days of the purchase. What is Extended Warranty Insurance?

Extended Warranty Insurance is complimentary for HSBC Gold, Platinum and Premier cardholders. It provides an extended Australian manufacturers warranty for up to 12 months on most purchases of personal goods using your Gold or Platinum credit card. What is Transit Accident Insurance?

Transit Accident Insurance is complimentary for HSBC Platinum cardholders. It provides protection against death or injury while making a plane, tourist bus, train or ferry journey purchased using your Platinum credit card.
