Step 1. Apply for an Online Savings Account with HSBC.
Please note applicants who are under the age of 16 or not Australian residents are not eligible to open an Online Savings Account.
Step 2. Once your account has been approved, you will receive your Online Savings Account details.
Step 3. Apply for an E*TRADE account and nominate your Online Savings Account into which E*TRADE will credit and debit funds for share trades.
Note that your nominated Online Savings Account must be in the name of, or include the name of, your E*TRADE account.

There is a minimum of A$5,000 deposit required to open an Online Savings Account, but this does not need to be maintained after account opening. Please note applicants who are under the age of 16 or not Australian residents are not eligible to open an Online Savings Account.
