Payments using BPAY® must be made before 6pm AEST on a business day^ for the biller to receive and process the payment on the same day.
Payments made after 6pm AEST or on a NSW public holiday or the weekend will be received and processed by the biller on the following business day.
If you schedule a payment in advance, and the date you select is a NSW public holiday or a Saturday or Sunday then the biller will not receive the payment until the following business day.
If you do not have sufficient funds in your account on the business day before your payment is scheduled, then your BPAY® transaction will be rejected.
^Business days are Monday to Friday and excludes NSW public holidays and weekends.
Please note: The payment may take up to 48 hours to be recorded by the biller. Some BPAY® billers may not accept the date of payment instruction sent by HSBC as the payment date. Please check with the biller to confirm.
When you place a transfer or payment instruction, Internet Banking will display an acknowledgement advice and reference number to confirm the instruction has been submitted. When the payment has been processed by HSBC, you will receive a transfer advice in your Internet Banking message inbox. You can retrieve these advices by clicking on the ‘Contact Centre’ link in Internet Banking and choosing ‘Read Message’. You can also check the transaction history on your account to see that the transfer has been processed.
If you schedule a transfer to be processed immediately, you may not be able to stop the transfer. Any other scheduled or recurring payments can be cancelled up to one full business day before the requested transfer date. Choose the ‘Transfers’ option and select ‘Future Transfers’ and follow the instructions to change or cancel the instruction.
The following cut-off times apply. Instructions received after the indicated cut-off times will be processed on the next business day.

Business Internet Banking customers must perform initial set up steps before transactions can be performed. Please refer to the Initial Set Up section in the Business Internet Banking User Guide for details. The User Guide can also be found within the of this website.
The two initial steps you will need to complete are outlined in the User Guide:
1. Change your Signature Group by going to the secure site of Business Internet Banking > Access & Security menu > View/Change/Delete User
2. Set up Account Control limits for each Business account by going to the secure site of Business Internet Banking > Access & Security menu > Account Control Setup and Change
