Switching to HSBC is easier than you think

HSBC Easy Account Switching Service

When you open an HSBC transaction account, we can help you switch over all your regular direct debits and direct credits from your previous bank accounts to your new HSBC transaction account. So there's no need to contact your gym, employer, utility company or mobile phone provider about your new account - because we can do it for you.

No waiting
As soon as you open an HSBC transaction account, you can start the process of switching your regular direct debits and direct credits straight away by completing this easy form.

No hassle
Once you've submitted the form, we take the stress out of switching by arranging for your regular direct debtors and direct creditors to be notified about your new HSBC transaction account details on your behalf.

No charge
You will not be charged for using the Easy Account Switching Service.

How to switch

Once you've opened a new HSBC transaction account, you're ready to switch.

Step 1: Complete the Easy Account Switching Request Form.

Return signed and completed form to your nearest branch or mail to:

HSBC Bank Australia,
GPO BOX 3096
Parramatta NSW 2150

or email accountswitchinghsbc@hsbc.com.au

Important: If your old account is in joint names, be sure to have all account holders sign the form.

Step 2: We obtain the list of your regular payments and switch your direct debits and direct credits to your new HSBC transaction account.

Once we've received your Easy Account Switching form, we'll ask your previous bank to provide us with a list of all your regular direct debits, direct credits and periodic payments made to and from your old account over the last 13 months. Whilst every effort will be taken by your old financial institution to ensure completeness, the List may not be complete, as it may not include all regular or one-off payments.

By using our Easy Account Switching Request form, you will be agreeing for us to use the list to determine which payments are actually the direct debits and direct credits that we will switch to your new HSBC account. We'll send you your 'Regular Payments List' by e-mail or post for your information. Please review to ensure all items are correct.

We then use the List to contact your regular debtors and creditors we've identified on your behalf, and instruct them to switch your regular direct debits and direct credits to your new HSBC Account.

Step 3: Close your existing transaction account

Once you are confident all switches have been made, you are free to close your old account.
